Defence Minister (Menhan) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended a joint iftar gathering with the extended TNI-Polri family this evening. The event was held at Bhayangkara Field in South Jakarta.

Also present at this evening’s event on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, were Chairman of Commission I of the House of Representatives for the 2024-2029 period Utut Adianto, Special Adviser to the President for Civil Order and Police Reform General (Retired) Ahmad Dofiri, Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Anwar Iskandar, several deputy ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, and senior officials from the National Police Headquarters.

Based on the agenda reviewed, the event opened with a recitation of verses from the Qur’an, followed by a religious sermon on the wisdom of Ramadan delivered by Ustaz Adi Hidayat. There was also a symbolic distribution of assistance to orphans. The iftar gathering will continue with Maghrib prayer and social interaction.

General Sigit hopes this joint iftar becomes an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood and synergy between the military and police. The National Police Chief emphasises that solidarity is needed to face future challenges.

“Our hope, our collective hope, is that this occasion will serve to strengthen our bonds of brotherhood and our synergy in facing various issues and challenges that our nation inevitably faces, which certainly require solidarity and synergy. No matter how great the challenges we face, we can all carry them out in the best possible manner because we are all united and cohesive,” said General Sigit.
