Defence Minister and Deputy TNI Commander Become Honorary Members of the Marine Corps

The Indonesian Minister of Defence and Deputy Commander of the TNI, General Tandyo Budi Revita, were conferred as Honorary Members of the Navy’s Marine Corps at Todak Beach, Puslatpurmar 9 Dabo Singkep, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands, on Wednesday (5/8/2026). The ceremony was led by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali.

In addition to the two, Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives Utut Adianto, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, and Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono were also awarded Honorary Membership of the Marine Corps. The officials also received the Honorary Anti-Terrorism Maritime Aspect Brevet, the Honorary Amphibious Reconnaissance Brevet, and the Honorary Marine Corps Command Brevet.

The awarding of these brevets was a form of respect for their support and contribution to strengthening the capability and professionalism of the Navy’s Marine Corps. The moment occurred while the Defence Minister, senior TNI officials, and Commission I of the House were reviewing the 2026 TNI Integrated Exercise in Dabo Singkep.

The conferral of honorary membership and honorary brevets of the Marine Corps, coinciding with the 2026 TNI Integrated Exercise, served as a symbol of solidarity and synergy between the TNI and the Ministry of Defence in building a professional, modern, adaptive, and ready defence force. In doing so, the TNI is prepared to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
