Deed of incorporation for PAM JAYA Perseroan Daerah officially signed

Transformation toward a company that can compete professionally is why PAM JAYA is changing its legal form from Perusahaan Umum Daerah (Perumda) to Perseroan Daerah (Perseroda). The deed of incorporation of PT Air Minum Jaya (Perseroda) was officially signed by the PAM JAYA board of directors and representatives of the Jakarta Provincial Government on Wednesday 20 May. This signing is part of the process of changing PAM JAYA’s legal form from Perumda to Perseroda. This step is part of strengthening the institution and governance of the regional company to become more advanced, adaptive, professional, and oriented toward healthy and sustainable public service. Chief Executive Officer Arief Nasrudin said the move to Perseroda is part of an effort to build a more professional and modern public company to face future challenges. This is a necessary step to improve service quality and to reach all residents of Jakarta. “This transformation is an important step for PAM JAYA to move more quickly to expand piped drinking water services for Jakarta residents. Our main focus remains the same: to provide water services that are more evenly distributed, higher quality, and sustainable,” Arief said in a statement on Friday 22 May 2026. He explained that the Perseroda transformation would bring positive benefits to Jakarta residents. First, accelerating the achievement of the 100 percent piped water service coverage target in Jakarta by 2029. Second, improving service quality and developing digital innovation. Third, governance that is more transparent, modern, and competitive. Fourth, strengthening the water service infrastructure. “Governor Pramono has a grand vision for Jakarta. Jakarta must develop into a progressive city. In this context, piped water is not just a basic service, but also a symbol of the quality of life in a healthy, safe, and sustainable advanced city. A progressive city surely has good water quality,” Arief said. Through this transformation, PAM JAYA reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to grow as a piped drinking water service company that is professional, innovative, adaptive, and oriented toward the interests of Jakarta’s residents.
