The Head of the National Agrarian Reform Agency (BRAN), Dedi Prasetyo, is preparing the organisational structure and ranks of officials before the agency begins its duties following his inauguration by President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Thursday.

Speaking at the Rupatama Building of the Indonesian National Police Headquarters in Jakarta, Dedi stated that he needs to coordinate with the Minister of State Secretary and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to determine the officials who will assist in running BRAN.

“I must communicate with the State Secretary and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to conduct an assessment of which officials will serve under me to man this agency,” said Dedi.

He noted that the BRAN structure will eventually consist of two deputies, one principal secretary, and four deputy heads. He added that preparations are also underway to create a work plan aligned with the government’s policy direction for 2027.

Dedi also expressed his gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto for the trust placed in him to lead BRAN.

“I would also like to thank the President for granting me the trust and mandate to serve as the Head of the National Agrarian Reform Agency,” he said.

BRAN is a new institution whose formation is linked to the Draft Law on Agrarian Reform Regulation.

Previously, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency, Ossy Dermawn, stated that the government and the House of Representatives (DPR) are still reviewing several aspects regarding BRAN, including its organisational structure, division of tasks, and the institutional relationship between BRAN at the central and regional levels.

He noted that discussions regarding the Draft Law on Agrarian Reform Regulation are ongoing and are expected to serve as a foundation for resolving various agrarian issues, including conflicts and inequalities in land control and ownership.
