Dedi Mulyadi Visits AM Hendropriyono, Discusses Revitalisation of Wayang Puppetry

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi met with former State Intelligence Agency (BIN) chief AM Hendropriyono at his residence in Senayan, South Jakarta. The meeting centred on culture, including steps to revitalise wayang puppetry.

Regarding the revitalisation of wayang, AM Hendropriyono highlighted the need to revive the stories and plays of both wayang kulit (shadow puppets) and wayang golek (wooden puppets). He stressed the importance of rediscovering the philosophy and noble values inherited from the ancestors.

“Emphasis is placed on the importance of rediscovering the philosophy and noble values bequeathed by our ancestors. In terms of national morals and ethics, strengthening these is the foundation for reinforcing the civilisation of the Indonesian nation,” he said.

AM Hendropriyono noted that the meeting was relaxed and concluded with a shared lunch.
