Dedi Mulyadi Guarantees Transparent Student Admission System in West Java
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has asked the public, particularly parents of prospective students, not to panic in facing the 2026 New Student Admission System (SPMB) process. According to him, students who are not accepted in the initial stage still have the opportunity to participate in the subsequent selection stages.
Currently, the West Java SPMB process is still in the Prospective New Student Mapping (PCMB) stage, which has been running from 29 May to 9 June 2026 at 9:00 PM Western Indonesia Time. During this stage, prospective students select their target schools through the designated pathways. The admission results will be announced on 12 June.
Dedi stated that students who are not admitted to their chosen schools need not worry, as the government has prepared further mechanisms through SPMB stage 1 and stage 2. “We still have sufficient time to make adjustments. We will fix it,” said Dedi Mulyadi in a press release from the West Java Provincial Government on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.
SPMB stage 1 will open from 15 to 19 June 2026, with the selection results announced on 25 June 2026. Meanwhile, for students who still have not secured a school, they can participate in SPMB stage 2, which will take place from 30 June to 6 July 2026. The results for the second stage will be announced on 10 July 2026.
The number one official in West Java stated that this phased scheme is designed to ensure all prospective students have equal opportunities to access public secondary education in West Java.
In addition to guaranteeing opportunities for students who do not pass the initial selection, the West Java Provincial Government is also committed to maintaining the integrity of the SPMB implementation. Dedi mentioned that the digital system has been optimised to minimise technical constraints and ensure the process runs transparently.
He also invites the public to report any fraudulent practices, including the alleged buying and selling of school seats. “Name who is buying and selling. State where, do not just spread rumours. Go ahead, name who is buying and selling; name the teacher involved, name the official. Yes, report it; let the legal process take its course,” he declared.
Dedi confirmed that the entire new student admission process is conducted objectively and transparently. He added that the assessment of prospective students refers to the 2026 SPMB technical guidelines applicable in West Java.
The West Java Provincial Government hopes the public will calmly follow each SPMB stage and take advantage of all available opportunities before the new student admission process concludes in July.
Head of the West Java Education Agency, Purwanto, stated that the Education Agency has extended the PCMB data entry period until Thursday, 11 June 2026. At this stage, students choose their target schools through the pathways provided. “With this time extension, more students can participate in the mapping process and gain access to secondary-level education,” said Purwanto.
