Dedi Mulyadi Denies Allegations of Forest Clearing in Mount Galuga Linked to West Java Project

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has denied allegations that he ordered the clearing of forest land on Mount Galuga, Bogor Regency. He urged the public to rely on data and facts before making accusations. “Before making accusations, it is better for the public to prioritise data and facts. The information does not correspond with the actual conditions on the ground,” he stated on Monday (20/7). Mulyadi admitted he had no knowledge of who carried out the logging or clearing. He explained that the Mount Galuga area has long served as a landfill site serving Bogor City and Bogor Regency. Furthermore, he noted that land owned by the Indonesian Army in the vicinity is planned for the development of a waste-to-energy power plant, a project managed by Danantara. Mulyadi suggested that residents seeking detailed information about activities in the area should confirm directly with the Bogor Regency or Bogor City governments. He added that he does not take issue with criticism or accusations directed at him and appreciates citizens who actively monitor government operations.
