Deceased Victims of Bekasi Train Accident to Receive Rp50 Million Compensation from Jasa Raharja

PT Jasa Raharja has assured that all victims—both the injured and the deceased—in the train accident incident at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday, 27 April 2026, will receive compensation entitlements in accordance with applicable provisions.

This was stated by the President Director of Jasa Raharja, Muhammad Awaluddin, during a visit to the injured victims of the train accident at Primaya Hospital in Bekasi on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.

Awaluddin assured that his side moved immediately after the accident occurred and coordinated with relevant parties, including PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), the police, and hospitals.

“Alhamdulillah, it has been handled well. From Jasa Raharja, all victims have been handled well and received their accident guarantee rights,” said Awaluddin.

According to him, all victims will receive compensation from Jasa Raharja in accordance with applicable provisions. The amount of compensation from Jasa Raharja includes: Rp20 million for injured victims, and Rp50 million for the heirs of deceased victims.

In addition, Awaluddin continued, the injured and deceased victims will also receive compensation from PT Asuransi Jasaraharja Putera (a subsidiary of PT Jasa Raharja), which has partnered with PT KAI for passenger train accident insurance, amounting to Rp30 million for injured victims and Rp40 million for the heirs of deceased victims.

“We assure that for deceased victims, after the administration is completed within 2x24 hours, the compensation value will be given to the victims’ families. But for injured victims, it will be handled by the hospital side, and later it will be given according to the determined ceiling,” he said.

To date, the number of fatalities from the collision incident between the Commuter Line train and the long-distance train at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, on Monday night, has increased to 14 people.

PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that based on the latest data as of 08:45 WIB, 14 people have died. Meanwhile, 84 injured victims have received medical treatment at various health facilities.

PT KAI extends condolences to the deceased victims and their bereaved families, and to the injured victims who are currently undergoing medical treatment.
