Decades of Severe Damage to SDN Cimanggu 3 Building, Students Learn in School Health Unit
The building of SDN Cimanggu 3 in Cimanggu Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, is experiencing severe damage. As a result, students must learn in the school health unit (UKS) and the library. “There are three buildings that are severely damaged, so class 4 learns in the UKS, class 5 in the library, and class 2 alternates with class 1,” said the Head of SDN Cimanggu 3, Nunung Nurhasanah, on Tuesday (21/4/2026). Nunung revealed that all classrooms in her school are damaged. According to her, the most severe damage is in three classrooms that cannot be used. “There are three rooms that cannot be used, the bars are already rusted, the ceiling has collapsed, the door is already gone, the tiles are already destroyed,” she explained. Currently, several buildings used for teaching and learning activities are starting to deteriorate gradually in the roof, walls, and tiles. She said the condition is very concerning because it is prone to collapse. “The existing buildings are also damaged, the roof leaks when it’s rainy season,” Nunung stated. Nunung mentioned that the condition has persisted for nearly decades. She admitted to having reported it to the Pandeglang Education Department, but there has been no response. “It was reported yesterday when it collapsed to the department, ‘just wait and see,’ they said.” Nunung hopes that the relevant parties will soon take action. Because, according to her, the current condition disrupts the students’ comfort while learning. “Please take immediate action, this condition has lasted quite a long time,” she said.
