Debt Collector Who Stabbed Advocate in Tangerang Arrested While Fleeing on Bus
Police arrested a debt collector, identified as JBI, who stabbed advocate Bastian Sori in Kelapa Dua, Tangerang. The suspect was apprehended at Kalikangkung Toll Road, Semarang, Central Java, whilst attempting to flee.
In video footage viewed on Saturday (28/2/2026), the suspect was arrested inside a bus. Investigators first stopped a vehicle on the roadside, then proceeded on foot towards the bus.
The suspect was already inside the bus wearing a grey jacket. Investigators then entered the bus to arrest the suspect.
The bus lights were turned on and the suspect was apprehended without resistance. When questioned by investigators, the suspect stated he had fled alone.
Investigators subsequently brought the suspect to the Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Directorate headquarters for intensive interrogation.
Two Other Suspects Being Hunted
Previously, police identified three suspects connected to the stabbing incident. Two other suspects remain under active investigation.
“We have identified one stabbing suspect; two others are still being sought,” stated Metro Tangerang Selatan Police Chief AKBP Boy Jumalolo on Wednesday (25/2).
Separately, Metro Tangerang Selatan Police Criminal Investigation Division Head AKP Wira stated that investigations are being conducted by the police. The investigation is being carried out jointly to identify the perpetrators.
“We are still investigating to identify the suspects. We request your prayers that the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division of Tangerang Selatan Police, Kelapa Dua Police Precinct, and support from the Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Directorate will yield results soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Division Head Kombes Budi Hermanto stated that the suspect was arrested inside a bus. He was fleeing after stabbing the victim.
“He was secured inside the bus whilst attempting to flee,” he said.
