Debt Collector Stabs Lawyer Client at Tangerang Housing Estate

SOUTH TANGERANG — A group of debt collectors, commonly known as ‘Mata Elang’ (Eagle Eyes), carried out a stabbing attack against a client who is a practising lawyer at the Palem Semi housing estate in Karawaci, Tangerang, Banten. The victim, Bastian Sori, sustained serious wounds to his abdomen and was rushed to the nearest hospital.

A video circulating on Instagram showed a group of debt collectors arriving at the client’s home in the Palem Semi housing estate area in Karawaci.

According to the account accompanying the viral video, the incident began with an altercation involving three suspects who claimed to represent a financial company. The group forced their way into the victim’s property and attempted to repossess his car.

However, the victim refused to hand over the vehicle, arguing that the forced repossession procedure did not comply with legal requirements. The confrontation ultimately led to the suspects stabbing the victim.

South Tangerang Police Chief Senior Commissioner Boy Jumalolo confirmed the stabbing by the group of debt collectors had taken place. “It is true that there was an incident involving a group of debt collectors who committed assault in Kelapa Dua,” Boy said in Tangerang on Tuesday.
