Death Toll in Adonara, NTT Clash Rises to Three

The death toll from a clash between youth groups from Narasosina Village and Bele Hamlet, Waiburak Village, in Adonara Timur District, Flores Timur Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has risen to three. The physical confrontation occurred on Saturday (18/7) at 06:30 Central Indonesia Time. Flores Timur Police Chief AKBP Adhitya Octorio Putra confirmed the incident and the number of fatalities. The cause of the deadly brawl remains under investigation. To prevent further conflict, police have deployed additional personnel from the Flores Timur Police headquarters to secure the area. The identities of the deceased are still being verified. The deployment faced logistical challenges as the location is on Adonara Island, requiring sea transport from Larantuka. Reports also indicate that more than a dozen houses were set ablaze during the unrest.
