Death Toll in 9-Vehicle Pile-Up in Sibolangit Rises to 4

The death toll from a pile-up on Jalan Jamin Ginting in Suka Makmur Village, Sibolangit District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, has risen. Four people are now confirmed dead. North Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Ferry Walintukan, stated that eight other victims were injured. Six victims were referred to H. Adam Malik General Hospital, whilst two others are receiving treatment at the Sibolangit Community Health Centre. Ferry said the accident involved nine vehicles, consisting of one Fuso truck suspected of causing the accident, two Colt Diesel trucks, five minibuses, and one motorcycle. The driver of the Fuso truck has been identified as Ilham, aged 50. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the fatal crash. The driver has been detained for further questioning.
