Death Toll From US-Israeli Attacks on Iran Reaches 555
The Iranian Red Crescent Society announced on Monday (2 March 2026) that the death toll from combined United States and Israeli airstrikes that began on Saturday has increased to 555 people. According to a statement cited by the Fars News Agency, the joint strikes targeted 131 residential areas across various regions of Iran.
The Iranian Red Crescent Society confirmed 555 fatalities, although it has not yet provided detailed figures for wounded persons in the latest data update.
Previously, on Saturday, the organisation reported 201 deaths and 747 injured from the attacks that commenced on 28 February.
The joint military campaign launched by the United States and Israel on Saturday (28 February) reportedly killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Tehran launched retaliatory strikes using drones and missiles targeting Israeli territory, United States military assets, and several countries in the Gulf region.
