Death toll from Tibet landslide in China reaches 43
The death toll from a landslide and flash flood in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region has reached 43, while 519 others remain missing, China Central Television (CCTV) reported, citing local authorities on Sunday.
Previously, CCTV reported that 31 people had died and 531 others were missing in the disaster.
The flash flood struck northern Nepal on Wednesday (26/8) morning after torrents of water swept into the Bhotekoshi River. The flood occurred after a glacier shrank, triggering the landslide.
Meanwhile, the death toll in Nepal has surpassed 1,300.
