BEKASI – The number of fatalities from the fire at the Stasiun Pengisian Bulk Elpiji (SPBE) of PT Indogas Andalan Kita in Cimuning, Mustikajaya, Bekasi City, has increased to six as of Monday (20/4/2026). The latest victim passed away after receiving treatment for serious burns. The fire occurred on Jalan Cinyosog, Cimuning Ward, Mustikajaya Subdistrict, Bekasi City. “As of today, there are six fatalities,” said AKP Suparyono, Head of Public Relations at Bekasi City Metro Police Resort, when confirmed by Kompas.com via message on Monday (20/4/2026). “The victim suffered burns covering up to 80 percent,” he added. The other five victims who died in the incident were Suyadi (63) with 92 percent burns on Sunday (5/4/2026) and Djaimun (61) with 90 percent burns on Monday (6/4/2026). Both were security personnel at the SPBE. Subsequently, Sapta Prihantono (17) died on Tuesday (7/4/2026) with 63 percent burns, followed by Aulia Putri Budiasti (19) on Thursday (9/4/2026), and Kosasih (66) on Thursday (16/4/2026). Previously reported, a severe fire engulfed the Cimuning SPBE on Wednesday night (1/4/2026). As a result, nearly the entire SPBE area sustained heavy damage. In addition to loss of life, the fire impacted nearby residents. Based on verification by local authorities, 41 family heads (KK) were affected. “There are no issues in the investigation process. However, we are still awaiting results from the Forensic Laboratory,” Suparyono stated. The fire caused damage to several facilities and buildings. The SPBE land area of approximately 2,000 square metres was affected, including two kiosks, one scrap metal stall, one fried rice stall, one musholla with minor damage, and one coffee shop.
