Death Toll from Bekasi SPBE Fire Rises to Five People
BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – The number of fatalities from the fire at the Bulk LPG Filling Station (SPBE) of PT Indogas Andalan Kita in Bekasi City has increased to five people. The fire occurred on Jalan Cinyosog, Cimuning Ward, Mustikajaya Subdistrict, on Wednesday (1/4/2026). “Yes, it’s true the death toll has increased. On behalf of Kosasih, aged 65. The victim had undergone intensive treatment,” said Mustikajaya Subdistrict Head Maka Nachrowi when confirmed by Kompas.com via message on Thursday (16/4/2026). “The victim passed away at Cibitung Hospital at 00:30 WIB with burns covering about 63 percent,” he added. For information, Kosasih is the father of Aulia Putri Budiasti and Sapta Prihantono, who had previously died in the incident. The other two victims were Suyadi and Djaimun, who were security personnel at the SPBE of PT Indogas Andalan Kita. Both suffered severe burns exceeding 90 percent. After re-verification by local authorities, the number of affected family heads (KK) was recorded at 41 KK. The fire also caused damage to several facilities and buildings around the location. The SPBE land area of approximately 2,000 square metres was affected, in addition to two kiosks, one scrap metal stall, one fried rice stall, one prayer room that sustained minor damage, and one coffee shop.
