The stern action taken by the West Jakarta police and the Food
and Drug Control Agency against individuals or firms producing
and distributing fake medicine deserves praise.

Drugs are manufactured for the purpose of curing people and
making them healthy, so that strict control over drug production
and distribution is required. It is even more the case if the
drugs produced are fake, which can endanger human lives.

As drug counterfeiters and distributors of fake drugs may
sooner or later kill people, a law should be introduced
concerning counterfeit medicines by imposing maximum penalties,
even punishment by death if necessary.
