Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The government, together with toll road operators, has officially implemented a programme offering toll fee discounts of up to 30% during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return periods in 2026. This policy takes effect from 15 March 2026 and focuses on major routes, particularly the Trans-Java Toll Road, to promote smoother vehicle traffic flow.
According to information from the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), the toll discounts are divided into two main periods: the peak homecoming flow and the return flow. For the homecoming flow, a 30% tariff reduction applies on 15-16 March 2026, while a similar discount will be provided during the return flow on 26-27 March 2026.
Toll road operator Jasa Marga stated that this policy is part of efforts to enhance public travel comfort. “The 30% toll discount will soon apply… on 9 Jasa Marga Group toll roads,” management wrote in its official statement some time ago, quoted on Thursday (19/3/2026).
The discounts apply from 00.00 WIB to 24.00 WIB during those periods. They can only be used if transactions are made using electronic money cards.
These tariff reductions make long-distance travel costs more affordable. For the Trans-Java Toll Road, for example, for Group I vehicles, the fare from Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to Kalikangkung drops from Rp 446,500 to Rp 289,450.
Meanwhile, Groups II and III see a reduction from Rp 686,000 to Rp 447,300. For Groups IV and V, it drops from Rp 907,000 to Rp 588,700. These fares represent the cumulative amount after discounts are applied across multiple continuous toll sections traversed.
Toll Roads with Special Discounts
In addition to the main periods, several toll roads also offer tariff reductions on different schedules:
Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road: 30% discount on 21-22 March 2026
Becakayu Toll Road: 10-20% reduction with a dynamic pricing scheme until 31 March 2026
Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road: 12-44% discount until 30 April 2026
Kayuagung-Palembang Toll Road: 10-30% discount on 14-16 March and 26-29 March 2026
Additional discounts on certain routes, such as the Semarang-Batang Toll Road, which offers an extra reduction of up to 23% outside the main discount.
