Dealers Abuzz Selling Used Denza D9 and Ioniq 5 After One Year, Prices Like This
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Used car dealers at WTC Mangga Dua in North Jakarta have begun offering a wide selection of second-hand electric vehicles. According to observations by CNBC Indonesia on Wednesday (15/4/2026), various electric car models are now available used, including the BYD M6, BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Denza D9.
However, several of these used electric vehicles at WTC Mangga Dua are experiencing sharp price drops, with differences from new models being quite substantial. Asep, a used car dealer at WTC Mangga Dua, started selling second-hand electric vehicles just three weeks ago. The reason is the increasing number of people seeking used electric cars.
“Yes, we’re now confident enough to sell used electric vehicles, even though the prices have dropped dramatically. But we’re capitalising on the current situation where more people are becoming interested in electric cars,” said Asep when met by CNBC Indonesia on Wednesday (15/4/2026).
He explained that this is due to growing public concern over potential fuel price increases.
“Perhaps because people are starting to worry about fuel price hikes due to the war, so they’re beginning to look at electric vehicles,” he continued.
Nevertheless, customers seeking used electric vehicles are still limited to those wanting them as second cars, with none yet interested in them as their primary vehicle.
“But those looking for used electric cars are still choosing them as a second vehicle, not the first,” he said.
At his dealership, the used electric vehicles on sale include the 2025 BYD M6 for Rp325 million and the 2025 BYD Seal for Rp600 million.
Echoing Asep, Dini also admitted to starting sales of used electric vehicles in recent days, taking advantage of public anxiety over rising fuel prices.
“Used electric cars have only been sold here for five days; previously, we didn’t dare because the prices had fallen so much. But because people are starting to worry about fuel price increases, we’ve become bold enough to sell them,” said Dini.
However, the units of used electric vehicles she sells are still limited and not as abundant as conventional used cars.
“But the stock is indeed small, at most three cars, because they’re hard to come by,” she said.
At Dini’s dealership, the used electric vehicles on offer start from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 at Rp420 million, the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric at Rp395 million, and the BYD M6 at Rp320 million. There is also a luxury used electric vehicle available at WTC Mangga Dua, namely the Denza D9. Willy, another used car dealer, admitted to selling a used Denza D9. However, its price is quite far from the new variant, reaching Rp810 million. The vehicle has also been in use for less than a year.
“Yes, I’ve just started selling a used Denza D9, only three days ago, and the usage is still under a year,” said Willy.
