Dead baby with umbilical cord found floating in Tukad Mati, Kuta, Bali

“Police have discovered the body of a female infant floating in the Tukad Mati river, Tuan Lange Street, Kuta, Badung, Bali,” said Denpasar Police Public Relations Chief Iptu Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, reported by detikBali on Monday, 25 May 2026.

Adi revealed that the baby’s body was first found by Firman on Saturday, 23 May 2026, around 4:00 PM WITA. Firman immediately informed two young men fishing nearby about the floating corpse.

Firman also reported the discovery to the boarding house owner, I Made Cakra, who then notified the police about the infant’s body in the river.

Denpasar Police officers visited the scene and conducted a crime scene investigation. According to Adi, the body was lying on a mattress, floating at a leftward tilt and discoloured.

Police confirmed the victim’s organs were intact with no signs of violence on the female infant’s body.

“The victim’s organs are complete, the umbilical cord remains attached, but the placenta is missing,” Adi said.
