PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI) has asserted that the sustainability of the Indonesian bus industry is built upon long-term relationships founded on trust, product quality, after-sales service, and close collaboration across the entire ecosystem. This commitment was showcased through the Mercedes-Benz Bus Fleet Owner Gathering 2026, themed ‘Drive As One Family. A Legacy Worth Celebrating’, and a series of unit handover ceremonies at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.

Amid the accelerating transformation of the automotive industry towards electrification and digitalisation, bus operators face increasingly complex challenges. Rising operational costs, shifting public mobility needs, and higher service demands require all industry players to build an ecosystem that delivers long-term value. For DCVI, the success of the bus industry is not solely determined by vehicle quality. Dealer network support, after-sales service, spare parts availability, coachbuilder partnerships, financing institutions, and customer trust are all integral to sustaining operators’ businesses.

Faustina, Head of Product and Marketing at PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia, stated that the relationship with Mercedes-Benz Bus customers has been built through decades of consistency. ‘Trust is not born when a vehicle is delivered to the customer. Trust is built through years of experience, through service quality, spare parts availability, dealer partner support, and a continuously evolving partnership. That is what we want to celebrate with all our customers and partners,’ she said.

This spirit was embodied in the Mercedes-Benz Bus Fleet Owner Gathering 2026, which brought together bus operators, dealer partners, coachbuilder companies, and business partners in a forum of appreciation and strengthened collaboration. During the event, DCVI, together with its dealer network and several national coachbuilders, also held a ceremony to hand over various Mercedes-Benz Bus units to customers from different transport segments. The units handed over included: Mercedes-Benz O500 RSD 2445 to PO AgraMas, PO TAM, and PO UTrans; Mercedes-Benz OF 1623 to PO Adhiputra Makassar; Mercedes-Benz OH 1626 S to PO Subur Jaya; and Mercedes-Benz OH 1626 L to PO ALS, PO Kenzo Trans, and PO Miyor.

A key highlight of the handover was the Mercedes-Benz O500 RSD 2445, a new premium chassis designed for intercity and tourism operators. Its performance, operational efficiency, safety features, and the support of the Mercedes-Benz service network were cited as factors underpinning operator confidence in the model. This trust is reflected in the experiences of customers who have operated Mercedes-Benz buses for decades.

Chandra Lubis, owner of PO ALS (Antar Lintas Sumatera), which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, affirmed that the company has used Mercedes-Benz units since its early days. David Ariawan, owner of PO AgraMas, echoed this sentiment, stating that the reliability of the Mercedes-Benz fleet over the years formed the basis for the company to reinvest in the brand, positioning the new O500 RSD 2445 units as successors to their proven predecessors. Fedrya Nanda, owner of PO Miyor from Sawahlunto, West Sumatra, expressed hope for continued collaboration and pride in introducing his hometown through the presence of the new Mercedes-Benz unit.

All units handed over at GIIAS 2026 feature bodies built by national coachbuilders, including Adiputro, Laksana, Tentrem, and New Armada. This collaboration demonstrates the synergy between Mercedes-Benz technology and the capabilities of the Indonesian coachbuilding industry in delivering transport solutions tailored to the domestic market. DCVI also expressed appreciation to all its long-standing coachbuilder partners, including Adiputro, Laksana, Tentrem, New Armada, Piala Mas, and Morodadi Prima.

Adri Budiman, Head of Bus Marketing at DCVI, stated that every unit delivered marks the beginning of a long-term partnership. ‘We believe customer success depends not only on the product but also on the quality of the relationship we build after the vehicle starts operating. That is the meaning of Drive As One Family for Mercedes-Benz Bus,’ he said.
