Days to Go: Airlangga to Announce WFH Policy for Civil Servants and Private Sector
Jakarta - The announcement of the policy on implementing Work from Home (WFH) for Civil Servants (ASN) or Civil Service Employees (PNS), along with recommendations for private sector employees, will be made in the near future.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the announcement will be issued before the end of this month, with only four days remaining.
“It will definitely be set this month,” said Airlangga at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday (27/3/2026).
“This month still has a few days left, there’s still time,” he added when asked again about the timing of the announcement.
Separately, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa also explained that it will be announced shortly. According to him, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto will make the announcement.
“It will be announced soon by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy,” he said.
“I don’t know (when), but we’re still in continuous meetings, and there’s a meeting tomorrow too,” he added.
It is not yet clear which day will be designated for collective WFH. However, according to Purbaya, this WFH policy will result in savings for the state budget, although the exact amount is not yet known.
“So there will definitely be savings on fuel, I don’t know the percentage in detail, because it can vary depending on oil prices. But for productivity, for factories and such, they do require continuous workers, but not necessarily. And public services will continue to run. So it should be fine if it’s just one day,” explained Purbaya.
