Daycare Helps Working Mothers Stay Productive and Calm Ahead of Eid
Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026, the majority of workers have begun their Eid leave and holidays. However, for some workers, particularly working mothers who have not yet taken leave, the pre-Eid period is often confusing, as children are typically on school holidays. This situation often requires working mothers to think carefully about ensuring their children’s safety and comfort while they work. Daycare becomes one of the options to achieve this. Therefore, the presence of daycare facilities at workplaces, especially those provided by companies, is highly beneficial and appreciated. This is what prompted PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk (Alfamidi) to once again offer a daycare programme for employees’ children ahead of Idulfitri 2026. Entering its second year, the daycare is expected to help working mothers remain productive and calm. The daycare programme, attended by dozens of children and running from 12-18 March 2026 at the head office in collaboration with Lovely Sunshine childcare institution, provides supervision for employees’ children aged 2-6 years. At the facility, the children engage in various educational and creative activities such as drawing, playing together, reading, and games designed to encourage social interaction and child development. The daycare programme aligns with the company’s commitment to enabling working mothers to remain productive ahead of the holiday. Working mothers can entrust their children with peace of mind, without worry, and stay focused on their work. ‘This initiative is expected to provide a sense of security and comfort for working mothers so they can remain productive without neglecting their important role as parents. Alfamidi strives to create a family-friendly work environment,’ said Alfamidi Director Afid Hermeily in an official statement on Wednesday (18/3). Lovely Sunshine founder Amanda Wangsa appreciated the daycare’s presence. In its implementation, besides playing together, the children receive education themed around outer space. ‘We also offer various other activities, such as art and craft, motor skills games for children, and storytelling. We hope this daycare provides benefits and allows parents to focus on work,’ said Amanda. Daycare participant parent Dwi Anisa admitted she was greatly helped by the programme. Initially, she was confused about where to leave her child when the housemaid went home for Eid. Leaving the child at a public daycare was also quite expensive on a daily basis. The presence of this daycare also serves as support for balancing work, life, and family (work-life balance). Working mothers can focus on work without sacrificing their role as mothers.
