Daycare Caregiver's Excuse in Aceh for Abusing Baby: Didn't Obey When Fed

The perpetrator, as a caregiver, was annoyed with the victim for not complying when about to be fed, said Head of Criminal Investigation at Banda Aceh Police Resort, Kompol Miftahuda Dizha Fezuono, as reported by detikSumut on Thursday (30/4/2026).

The actions of the three individuals demonstrate unprofessionalism by caregivers in the child-minding process. The police are now also examining the licensing of the daycare.

“We are conducting further investigations into whether the foundation is legal or illegal, and of course, developments will be carried out regarding the results of the investigation process,” he stated.

As is known, the police have designated three caregivers as suspects in the abuse case, namely RY (25), NS (24), and DS (24). The perpetrators are said to have abused the victim by pinching the cheeks, twisting the ears, and repeatedly hitting the buttocks.

The three are being detained at the Banda Aceh Police Resort. They are charged under Article 77B in conjunction with Article 76B in conjunction with Article 80 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 76C of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 35 of 2014 on amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection and/or Article 466 paragraph (1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, with a penalty of five years’ imprisonment.
