Dayamitra changes name

JAKARTA (JP): Telecommunications company PT Dayamitra Malindo
announced yesterday the company's name has been changed to PT
Dayamitra Telekomunikasi, and launched the trading name Cable &
Wireless Mitratel.

The consortium that manages the revenue-sharing contract
concession in Kalimantan, also announced it received a US$155
million syndicated loan involving ABN Amro, ING Bank, Sanwa Bank
and the Commonwealth Development Corporation.

Under the revenue-sharing contract scheme in Kalimantan, the
company is required to install 237,000 lines on the island by
March 1999 and achieve world-class operational standards. (das)
