One day after Eid al-Fitr, on Sunday (22/3/2026), the return flow was already evident at Bima Port in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Around 800 passengers left Bima using a Pelni ship.

“There is an increase in the number of passengers on the day after Eid 2026 at Bima Port today,” said the Head of the PT Pelni Bima Branch, Budiarto, to detikBali on Sunday.

Budiarto said the surge in passengers is part of the 2026 Lebaran return flow. According to him, the holidaymakers chose to return early to their places of work after celebrating Eid al-Fitr 1447 H in their hometowns.

“The return flow is faster, likely to match the ship schedules,” he said.

Budiarto revealed that passengers will be transported using KM Binaiya. The sailing route covers various destinations in eastern Indonesia, such as Labuan Bajo, Makassar, Parepare, and Bontang.

“KM Binaiya is one of the Pelni ship fleets prepared to carry return holidaymakers for Lebaran 2026,” he said.

Budiarto added that to anticipate the passenger surge during the 2026 Lebaran return via Bima Port, Pelni has prepared several ship fleets with various routes and destinations. Such as to Bali, Lombok, Surabaya, Makassar, and Sumba.

“There are about five to six ships with various routes and destinations prepared by Pelni to serve the community’s sea transportation needs through Bima Port,” he explained.

Pelni Bima’s Operational and Service Staff, Abdul Aziz Ramadhani, detailed that the number of holidaymakers departing on KM Binaiya on the day after reached more than 800 passengers.

“The number of passengers departing via Bima Port today is approximately 800 people. Destinations vary, including to Labuan Bajo, Makassar, Parepare, and Bontang,” he said.

Abdul Aziz estimated that the passenger surge will continue to be busy and crowded in the coming days as the Lebaran holiday period ends.

“We urge prospective passengers to arrive early at Bima Port. Ensure travel tickets match the schedule to avoid crowds and delays,” he emphasised.
