The fire at the Ciniru Final Waste Processing Site (TPSA) in Jalaksana District, Kuningan Regency, West Java, has entered the extinguishing and cooling process for 13 days.

“Entering the 13th day of the fire handling implementation using the cooling method at TPSA Ciniru, the fire handling activities have been completed,” said the Head of the Kuningan Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Indra Bayu, in Kuningan on Tuesday (25/8).

He said that during the handling on Monday (24/8), the cooling process was carried out from 09.00 WIB at several points that were still emitting smoke.

The Kuningan BPBD, together with the Technical Implementation Unit of the Fire Department, he said, needed to carry out cooling so that the points that had been extinguished would not catch fire again.

Thus, the team ensured that the remaining fire points and smoke could be controlled. The fire points and smoke, he said, were successfully localised within the Ciniru TPSA area so that they did not spread to residential areas.

“The condition of the fire points and smoke is localised only within the TPSA area and none are on residents’ land,” he said.

He explained that the fire handling incident at TPSA Ciniru received logistical support from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Kuningan, to support the needs during the fire handling process.
