Davina Karamoy questioned as witness in Hanania fraud case

Jakarta - Actress Davina Karamoy complied with a summons from Polda Metro Jaya to provide testimony as a witness in the alleged fraud case involving umrah travel agency Hanania Group. “Our client cooperated fully with the investigators’ summons to serve as a witness in the Hanania case. There were around 30 questions asked regarding our client’s involvement, who was invited to do endorsement work,” said Davina’s legal counsel, Julius Irawansyah, at Polda Metro Jaya on Thursday. According to him, his client was questioned in her capacity as a witness who had previously collaborated to promote Hanania’s activities through social media. Julius explained that Davina is recorded as having made two umrah trips with Hanania, namely in September 2024 and August 2025. The first trip was a form of contractual cooperation involving a programme from a private television station, where Davina acted as talent. As for the second departure in August 2025, Julius emphasised that his client travelled with her family under a paid scheme, not a complimentary facility. “We stress that this was not an investment. For the 2025 departure, our client officially paid Rp233,800,000 for several family members,” Julius said. He also mentioned that his client did not receive a large honorarium, but was merely given pocket money amounting to Rp10 million per departure. “The total pocket money of Rp20 million has now been voluntarily returned in full to the investigators,” Julius stated. Meanwhile, Davina explained that the questioning went smoothly and she had answered all the questions posed by the investigators. From this case, she said she has learned a valuable lesson from the legal matter that has dragged her name into it, so that in the future she will be more selective in accepting cooperation offers. “This will certainly be a lesson for me to be more self-aware and more careful going forward,” Davina said.
