Davide Brivio's Future: Moving from Trackhouse to Honda HRC?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The future of Davide Brivio at the Trackhouse Racing MotoGP Team is starting to come under the spotlight.

The boss of the Aprilia satellite team is reportedly set to move to Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) to fill the position of senior manager starting next season.

The speculation has grown stronger after the HRC team manager, Alberto Puig, was reported to be taking on a new role as a senior advisor for Honda’s MotoGP and WorldSBK programmes starting in 2027.

Although there has been no official announcement, many believe that Brivio’s departure from Trackhouse is only a matter of time.

When asked directly about the news during the MotoGP Catalunya practice session in Barcelona, Brivio did not deny it outright.

“Who knows,” he said.

Brivio is no stranger to MotoGP.

He is known as a key figure behind Valentino Rossi’s success with Yamaha Motor Company, winning four world titles in the premier class.

After that, Brivio also successfully led Joan Mir to win the 2020 MotoGP world title with Suzuki Motor Corporation.

Under his direction, Trackhouse has begun to show positive development.

The US-based team achieved their first victory through Raul Fernandez at Phillip Island last season.

The condition of Honda, which is still trying to recover from the slump of the last few seasons, is believed to be the main reason why HRC is looking for an experienced figure like Brivio.

His extensive experience in building teams is considered to be able to help accelerate the recovery of the Japanese manufacturer in MotoGP.
