David Hendradjid Rahardja Leads Transformation of PT Mitra Patriot
Jakarta — PT Mitra Patriot (Perseroda), a regional state-owned enterprise belonging to Bekasi City Government, is implementing various transformation measures to improve company performance and strengthen its contribution to regional economic development.
This was communicated by Chief Executive Officer David Hendradjid Rahardja during a presentation of the company’s performance and strategy to the Jury Panel at the TOP BUMD Awards 2026 in Jakarta.
David explained that he was appointed in July 2025 to lead PT Mitra Patriot (Perseroda) for a five-year term until 2030. At the time of speaking, his tenure had not yet reached one year.
He revealed that when he first assumed leadership, PT Mitra Patriot was not in an easy situation. He recalled a statement made by the Bekasi Mayor during the inauguration of the company’s new office on Sultan Agung Street.
On that occasion, the Bekasi Mayor made a striking remark, stating that “only a madman would want to be Chief Executive of Mitra Patriot.” This statement reflected the company’s condition at that time, which was facing various difficulties, particularly regarding liabilities and debts to various parties.
“When I took over the position in early July 2025, the company’s condition could indeed be described as ailing. However, for me, such a condition represents a unique challenge,” David told the TOP BUMD Awards 2026 Jury Panel.
According to him, PT Mitra Patriot possesses substantial business potential if managed with the right strategy. He believed that a company starting from a deficit position actually has the opportunity to demonstrate significant growth when it successfully improves its performance.
Before being entrusted to lead PT Mitra Patriot (Perseroda), David had a background as a private entrepreneur. He launched various business ventures from 2010 onwards and managed several private companies, many of which operated in collaboration with the government.
His business experience includes cooperation with various state institutions and enterprises. He previously partnered with several State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), as well as establishing collaborations with the Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Agriculture.
Beyond his reputation as an entrepreneur, David also has political experience as a cadre of the Gerindra Party (Gerakan Indonesia Raya).
“Through various processes and paths opened by God, I finally received the opportunity to lead PT Mitra Patriot (Perseroda). In July 2025, I was officially inaugurated by Bekasi Mayor, Tri Adhianto,” he explained.
During his presentation, David was accompanied by members of the company’s management, including M. Yasir B.S. as General Manager, Reza Hasyimi Alie as Business and Cooperation Manager, and Vincentia Simarmata as Business and Cooperation Staff.
Since taking office, the new management immediately implemented several significant changes, including the relocation of the company’s operational office.
The old office was no longer adequately supporting optimal operational activities. In addition to inadequate building conditions, the location frequently experienced flooding during heavy rainfall.
Therefore, management decided to seek a new location that was more representative. The final choice fell on a location on Sultan Agung Street, in the Naga Swalayan Complex.
Initially, the company rented only one shophouse unit as an operational office. However, as the company’s activities expanded, management subsequently added another adjacent shophouse unit.
The two shophouses were then combined into a larger operational office deemed more supportive of the company’s activities. According to David, the expansion of office space represents one of the indicators that the company is beginning to show positive development, despite management changes being less than a year old.
In addition to the office changes, the company also undertook a corporate identity update through a rebranding process, including replacing the company logo.
Management considered the old logo no longer relevant to the company’s new direction. Therefore, PT Mitra Patriot introduced a new logo containing several symbolic meanings.
The logo includes a water element symbolising life and sustainability. Additionally, there is a sun element in the letter “P” depicting energy and new hope for the company, as well as a shield element symbolising protection and strength in conducting business operations.
In line with this new identity, the company also introduced a new slogan: “Energi Baru Menggerakkan Ekonomi” (New Energy Driving Economy).
According to David, the slogan reflects the spirit of the new management to bring fresh energy to the company whilst contributing to driving the economy in Bekasi City.
Changes were not limited to physical and corporate identity aspects. Management also undertook major restructuring of human resources.
Since the beginning of his leadership in July 2025, no employees from the previous management continued working at the company. The new management conducted comprehensive restructuring and built the company organisation from scratch.
David even referred to himself as the first active employee of the company following his appointment. Subsequently, the company gradually began recruiting new employees.
The recruitment process was conducted to establish a more solid and professional organisational structure. As time progressed, the company’s employee numbers continued to increase.
By March 2026, PT Mitra Patriot (Perseroda) had recruited approximately 70 employees. Of this number, approximately 47 work at the head office, whilst the remainder are placed in operational units and field activities.
These various transformation measures are part of management’s comprehensive effort to improve the company’s performance and strengthen its economic contribution to Bekasi City.
