Davao officials in town

MANADO, North Sulawesi: North Sulawesi Governor E.E.
Mangindaan received a delegation yesterday from the Davao City
Council who were in town to revive the sister city project
involving the two cities and Bitung, also in North Sulawesi.

The Davao council team, headed by Diosdado Mahipus, was
accompanied by Philippines Consul General Marcilo E. Josue,
Antara reported.

There had never been any follow-up since Davao, Manado and
Bitung signed the sister city arrangements in 1993.

During the meeting, Mahipus proposed the use of the Internet
for communications between the three cities to discuss possible
cooperation programs. (emb)
