Daughter, Son-in-Law and Grandson of Khamenei Killed in Israeli-US Attack on Iran
Family members of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei have been reported killed in a combined military strike by Israel and the United States on Iran. Iranian state media reported that Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law and grandson were killed.
“After establishing contact with sources with information from the environment of the Supreme Leader’s family, the news of the martyrdom of the daughter, son-in-law and grandson of the Revolutionary Leader has unfortunately been confirmed,” reported the Iranian news agency Fars, according to AFP, on Sunday (1 March 2026).
The combined US-Israeli strike on Iran took place on Saturday (28 February). The US and Israeli camps have stated that Khamenei was also killed in the attack on Tehran.
“This morning, in a sudden and devastating strike, the residence complex of dictator Ali Khamenei was destroyed in the heart of Tehran,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a televised address, according to AFP.
Israeli and US forces reportedly dropped 30 bombs on Khamenei’s residence complex. Netanyahu said there were many indications that Khamenei had been killed.
“For more than three and a half decades, this cruel dictator has spread terror across the world while oppressing his own people, working tirelessly and relentlessly on plans to destroy Israel,” Netanyahu said.
“That plan is now gone – and there are many signs that this dictator is no longer alive,” he added.
US President Donald Trump also reported similar developments. He announced Khamenei’s death as a result of the Israeli and US strike on Iran.
“Khamenei, one of the most evil people in history, is dead,” Trump said on his Truth Social media network, according to AFP.
Iran has not yet issued an official statement regarding reports of Khamenei’s death. His whereabouts since Iran was attacked remain unclear.
