Daughter Allegedly Raped by Father and Uncles, Mother's Statement Draws Scrutiny: 'As Long as She Doesn't Get Pregnant'
A mother in South Cikarang, Bekasi, has drawn sharp public criticism following her response to the alleged rape of her daughter by close relatives. The mother reportedly stated that she did not mind the abuse as long as her daughter did not become pregnant. The 21-year-old victim, identified as IA, is believed to have been subjected to repeated sexual assault over a period of nine years. The case came to light after IA attempted to end her life. After the attempt was thwarted, she disclosed that she had been a victim of sexual violence. The girl is alleged to have been raped by her biological father, identified by the initials MS, as well as her two uncles, identified as W and S. The abuse reportedly began when IA was just 13 years old. The West Java chapter of the Indonesian Women’s Association for Justice Legal Aid Institute (LBH APIK) revealed the case on its social media account. Legal advocates Cut Bietty and Jurung Radjagukguk from LBH APIK West Java are providing assistance to the victim. They subsequently reported the alleged rape by the victim’s father and two uncles to the Bekasi Metropolitan Police on 3 July 2026. Cut Bietty explained the chronology of the harrowing events. According to the victim’s account, IA had been a victim of sexual violence since 2017, when she was 13 years old. The indecent acts are alleged to have continued frequently up to the present day, occurring whenever the victim was alone. Bietty stated that the abuse began at a time when the victim was frequently beaten by her mother, while her uncle, identified as W, often defended her.
