Police have uncovered the scheme of a man with the initials DC, alias Pedaw, the mastermind behind a dating scam in the Kalideres area of West Jakarta. Pedaw exchanged the victim’s motorcycle for a package of crystal methamphetamine in Kampung Ambon.

“At that location, the motorcycle obtained from the crime was exchanged for two ji (grams) of crystal methamphetamine and Rp 500,000 in cash,” said Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Rachmad Wibowo in a statement on Wednesday (24/6/2026).

Pedaw was arrested while working at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport cargo terminal. Rachmad stated that Pedaw was the main perpetrator who assaulted and seized the victim’s motorcycle.

“The individual concerned is the main perpetrator who committed the assault against the victim and took the victim’s vehicle,” he said.

Perpetrator DC, alias Pedaw, has been named a suspect and detained. He is charged under Article 479 of the Criminal Code.

The arrest was the result of an investigation into a case reported on Tuesday (26/5) regarding a violent theft experienced by the victim. The chronology began when the victim became acquainted with a woman with the initials GF on 17 May 2026.

“After establishing communication, the victim was invited to meet and was taken to a boarding room in the Puri Garden area, Kalideres, West Jakarta,” said Kalideres Police Chief Kompol Rihold Sihotang in a statement on Tuesday (9/6).

However, upon arriving at the boarding room, GF contacted two of her male associates, with the initials F and GC. Shortly after, the two men arrived and committed violence against the victim.

“Once inside the boarding room, the victim was approached by two other perpetrators who then assaulted him and took his motorcycle keys and mobile phone,” he said.

After seizing the victim’s belongings, the two perpetrators handed the vehicle keys to GF. The perpetrator GF then fled with the victim’s motorcycle.
