Databricks and Insignia Strengthen Production-Ready AI Implementation in Indonesia

Databricks, a data and AI company, together with Insignia, an Indonesian technology consultancy, have announced a strategic partnership through the Databricks Delivery Provider Programme (DPP). The agreement establishes Insignia as a certified delivery extension partner and a key part of the expansion of Databricks’ Forward Deployment Engineering (FDE) team in Indonesia. This global agreement provides full flexibility for both parties, allowing Insignia to collaborate with global companies operating in Indonesia while supporting local Indonesian firms in expanding into global markets. Partner Manager APJ, FDE Databricks, Joseph Bosco, stated that Indonesia is one of the most dynamic corporate markets in the region and that interest in the lakehouse architecture is very real. Companies in Indonesia have spent recent years experimenting with generative AI, but by 2026, their focus has shifted, with boards of directors and leadership teams now demanding tangible, production-grade results from their AI investments. However, many organisations are realising that AI success heavily depends on the underlying data foundation. The problem is that data often remains fragmented in separate silos, whether in legacy cloud infrastructure or hybrid environments. As a result, AI models that perform well in trials often fail when deployed in production. When the data foundation is problematic, AI projects risk stalling. Managing Director of Insignia, Richard Ho, said the partnership is not just a plaque on the office wall. He explained that it means banks, retail companies, and state-owned enterprises in Indonesia can now fix their data foundations with a certified local team directly supported by Databricks. He added that the standards, escalation paths, and entire process are clearer and more measurable. For industries in Indonesia governed by strict regulations, such as banking, fintech, and state-owned enterprises, this partnership combines Insignia’s local regulatory compliance expertise with Databricks’ data governance systems. This provides organisations with the assurance to scale data and AI in alignment with applicable Indonesian regulations. Business Director of Insignia, Guta Saputra, noted that almost every company they meet tells the same story: their AI demos work brilliantly, but the project stalls afterwards. The partnership will immediately enter an operational phase. Insignia is forming a Special Databricks Delivery Unit, and both companies will soon begin joint architecture workshops to align engineering teams with Databricks’ latest blueprints on unified governance and lakehouse implementation. Through this collaboration, Databricks will facilitate platform provisioning, direct access to global technical support, periodic validation of implementation standards, and exclusive architectural methodologies. In turn, Insignia supports the cooperation by deploying certified local engineering talent, complete with integrated professional services to design, migrate, and maintain the system ecosystem.
