Databricks and Insignia Strengthen Production-Ready AI Implementation in Indonesia
JAKARTA – Databricks, a data and AI company, together with Insignia, an Indonesian technology consultancy, has announced a strategic partnership through the Databricks Delivery Provider Programme (DPP). The agreement establishes Insignia as a certified delivery extension partner and forms a key part of the expansion of Databricks’ Forward Deployment Engineering (FDE) team in Indonesia.
The agreement is global in scope and provides full flexibility for both parties. It enables Insignia to work with global companies operating in Indonesia while also supporting local Indonesian firms venturing into global markets.
“Indonesia is one of the most dynamic corporate markets in the region, and interest in lakehouse architecture is very real,” said Joseph Bosco, Partner Manager APJ, FDE at Databricks.
Companies in Indonesia have spent the past few years experimenting with generative AI. By 2026, their focus has shifted. Boards and leadership teams are now demanding tangible, production-grade results from their AI investments. However, most organisations are beginning to realise that the success of an AI strategy depends heavily on the data foundation underpinning it.
The problem is that data often remains fragmented across separate silos, whether in legacy cloud infrastructure or hybrid environments. As a result, AI models that perform well during trials frequently fail when deployed in production environments. When the data foundation is flawed, AI projects risk stalling.
Richard Ho, Managing Director of Insignia, said the partnership is not merely a plaque on the office wall. According to him, it means banks, retailers and state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in Indonesia can now repair their data foundations with a certified local team directly supported by Databricks.
“The standards are the same, the escalation paths are the same, and the entire process is clearer and more measurable. For many boards, this changes how they calculate risk,” he said in a press release on Monday (13 July 2026).
For tightly regulated sectors in Indonesia, such as banking, fintech and BUMN, the partnership combines Insignia’s local regulatory compliance expertise with Databricks’ data governance systems. This gives organisations the confidence to scale their data and AI in line with prevailing Indonesian regulations.
“Almost every company we meet tells the same story. Their AI demos run brilliantly, but the project stalls afterwards,” said Guta Saputra, Business Director at Insignia.
The partnership will enter its operational phase immediately. Insignia is forming a dedicated Databricks Delivery Unit, and both companies will soon begin joint architecture workshops to align their engineering teams with Databricks’ latest blueprint for unified governance and lakehouse implementation.
Through this collaboration, Databricks will facilitate the provision of its platform, direct access to global technical support (FDE), periodic validation of implementation standards, and exclusive architecture methodology. Insignia, for its part, will support the partnership by deploying certified local engineering talent, along with integrated professional services to design, migrate and maintain these system ecosystems.
