The Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) period in 2026 is predicted to be the period with the highest data traffic in the eastern region of Indonesia. Telkomsel Area Pamasuka (Papua, Maluku, Sulawesi, Kalimantan) estimates that data traffic will reach 17.81 petabytes (PB), equivalent to billions of digital content uploads and downloads by the public during the fasting month until Eid.

Vice President of Area Network Operations, Telkomsel Area Pamasuka, Angky Arif Priyagung, said that this prediction shows a significant increase compared to traffic during normal periods, which is only around 16.05 PB.

“This year’s RAFI period, data traffic growth is almost reaching 11 percent, and we predict it could reach 12 percent. Specifically for digital content download activities, it is predicted to grow by 5 to 6 percent,” said Angky in Makassar, Thursday (February 26).

To anticipate the surge in traffic and potential technical disturbances due to extreme weather in South Sulawesi, Telkomsel Pamasuka has prepared a special network maintenance team.

The team, which was formed during the Christmas and New Year (NARU) period, will operate fully during Ramadan to quickly respond to any potential network damage.

Overall, Telkomsel Area Pamasuka operates 33 Telkomsel Siaga posts spread across various strategic locations, consisting of 6 Flagship posts and 27 Regular posts.

These posts will operate from February 10 to March 28, 2026, serving customer needs ranging from activating SIM cards, migrating eSIMs, assistance with the MyTelkomsel application, to exchanging Telkomsel POIN.

“The operation of these posts complements the various customer services that are already available through digital channels such as the MyTelkomsel application, website, social media, Call Center 188, as well as hundreds of Siaga GraPARI and tens of thousands of Siaga Outlet partners throughout Indonesia,” said Vice President of Consumer Business, Telkomsel Area Pamasuka, Muharlis.

With the theme ‘Serving with All Our Heart’ so that customers can ‘Experience Ramadan with All Their Heart’, Telkomsel presents a variety of special offers tailored to customer segments.

Not only that, Telkomsel also presents the Mudik Hepi loyalty program which allows customers to donate Telkomsel POIN to help underprivileged people go home for Eid.

“This Ramadan, our focus is on being present to serve with all our heart at every step of the customer. Whether for suhoor and iftar, gathering with family, sharing kindness, going home for Eid, to celebrating Eid, Telkomsel is ready to support,” said Muharlis. (LN/E-4)
