Washington — The United States has spent more than $100 billion (approximately Rp1.7 quadrillion) on military operations in Iran, despite a ceasefire being announced, according to data released by the Iran War Cost Tracker on Friday. The platform calculates the costs required for military personnel, ships deployed to the region, and various other related expenses.

The calculation methodology is based on Pentagon reports to the US Congress, which stated that the first six days of operations cost $11.3 billion (approximately Rp201.79 trillion). Following this, operational costs were estimated to reach approximately $1 billion (approximately Rp17.68 trillion) per day.

By the end of April, the United States Department of War estimated the cost of operations to be $25 billion (approximately Rp446.45 trillion). However, shortly thereafter, that estimate was revised to $29 billion (approximately Rp517.88 trillion).

On 28 February, the United States and Israel launched joint attacks against several targets in Iran, including Tehran, resulting in damage and civilian casualties. Iran subsequently retaliated against the aggression by attacking Israeli territory and United States military facilities in the Middle East.

On 7 April, Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire. However, subsequent negotiations held in Islamabad concluded without producing a breakthrough.
