Data-Driven Approach Transforms How Companies Tackle Regulations
Jakarta, VIVA – The evolving approach in the relationship between the business world and regulators increasingly emphasises the use of data, transparency, and more structured dialogue. Several companies are now strengthening their policy and advocacy functions to better align with the continuously developing regulatory dynamics.
This was stated by Dian Widyanarti, Head of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs at Bentoel Group. “I believe that effective regulation can only be realised through openness, trust, and constructive cross-sector dialogue, ultimately creating sustainable impacts for society and the overall industry ecosystem,” she said, as quoted from a press release on Wednesday, 6 May 2026.
Dian herself has over two decades of experience in corporate affairs and is known for promoting an approach that connects industry interests with public policy through multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Under her leadership, the company’s Corporate & Regulatory Affairs function is said to have developed a more data-driven and measurable regulatory approach. This approach is aimed at maintaining a balance between regulatory compliance and industrial operational sustainability.
In addition to compliance aspects, the approach is also linked to strengthening social impact through the Empower Academy programme, which focuses on community empowerment and economic inclusion.
“Our role does not stop at the advocacy process, but also in ensuring that every policy dialogue results in better understanding, data-based insights, and the ability to address industry needs and public interests in a balanced manner,” said the woman who recently received the Outstanding Leader in Regulatory Advocacy and Responsible Industry Policy award at the Indonesia Leading Women Awards 2026.
The award was given to Dian Widyanarti on 5 May 2026 for her role in strengthening responsible policy advocacy and consistently building dialogue with regulators and industry stakeholders.
The award is given to women assessed to have contributions and impacts in various fields, serving as appreciation for women’s roles in driving social and economic development.
