Data Centre Market Grows, Runjian Strengthens Digital Infrastructure Business in Indonesia
Chinese technology company, Runjian Co, Ltd, is expanding its business in the ASEAN market by making Indonesia one of its primary operational bases. This expansion includes the development of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, computing, digital infrastructure, and the Token-as-a-Service (TaaS) computing capacity service model.
At the AIMX Singapore 202<0xC2>6 event, held on 26–27 August at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Runjian introduced the development of its TaaS business. This model allows corporate clients to access computing capacity for AI requirements more flexibly and according to their specific needs.
As a Platinum Sponsor of AIMX Singapore 2026, Runjian presented the theme “Token as a Service: Powering a Smarter ASEAN” to introduce its Token business development strategy to the international market. During the event, Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, Singapore, visited the Runjian exhibition pavilion to view the company’s displayed technological solutions.
Athena Zhao, Vice President of Runjian Co. Ltd., stated that the TaaS model has the potential to support increased AI adoption in Southeast Asia by providing access to computing capacity tailored to corporate needs.
“The Token-as-a-Service model is highly potential in supporting AI adoption in Southeast Asia. TaaS can help companies obtain access to computing capacity more inclusively and according to their needs, allowing large-scale AI implementation to be carried out more efficiently,” Athena said during the main forum of AIMX Singapore 2026, in a statement on Monday (31/8/2026).
Business development in ASEAN continues Runjian’s track record in Indonesia, which includes data centre projects, digital infrastructure, communications, and the digitalisation of industrial areas. One such example is the Morowali Smart Park project in Central Sulawesi.
In that project, Runjian manages various digital infrastructure requirements, ranging from server rooms, data networks, data storage and transmission, gateways, and monitoring, to wired and wireless networks, access control, and power supply systems.
Runjian Indonesia is also working on the J&T Express data centre development project in Indonesia. In this project, the company provides servers, network security devices, switches, routers, as well as technical support and maintenance operations for the second and third stages of expansion.
This experience forms part of Runjian’s business development in Indonesia’s digital infrastructure sector. The company is subsequently expanding its portfolio by developing the TaaS model to meet corporate demands for AI computing capacity.
Through TaaS, companies requiring AI infrastructure do not have to build their entire computing capacity independently. Computing resources can be utilised more flexibly and scalably according to the requirements of AI applications.
