Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto Tjahyono stated that he received instructions from Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad to accelerate the construction of the flyover at Bulak Kapal. This acceleration aims to smooth mobility following the fatal collision incident at Bekasi Timur Station.

“Today, tomorrow morning I have been asked to prepare a letter so that there is a process of acceleration in order to build the flyover at Bulak Kapal, even though it has already been initiated by the Governor,” said Tri to reporters at the Bekasi City Hospital, on Monday (28/4/2026).

He said the budget for the project has just entered the regional budget. He stated that the land acquisition carried out by the city government has been completed with funds of Rp 100 billion.

“And then for the construction, the total requirement is around Rp 250 billion,” said Tri.

“Well, from the province, there is about Rp 30 billion. So hopefully, the Rp 220 billion will be assisted by Mr Dasco in the centre through what is called Banpres, or Presidential Assistance,” he added.

He stated that the resolution of the railway crossing must be addressed structurally. Near Bekasi Timur Station, there is a level crossing that became the scene of the taxi crash.

Tri said that once the flyover is built, the level crossing on Jalan Ampera will be closed.

“If the flyover is built, then Ampera (the level crossing) can also be closed, so traffic will be smoother, safer, and there will certainly be certainty that the train travel pattern will not be disrupted,” he explained.

He reiterated that the letter regarding the acceleration process for the flyover construction would be prepared this morning. Dasco, he continued, has assured the acceleration of the construction.

“Mr Dasco, as Deputy Speaker of the DPR, has assured there will be an acceleration process. I am confident that if the funds are available, it should be completed in six months,” he said.
