Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad has announced that there will be no adjustment to the prices of subsidised and non-subsidised fuels tomorrow, Wednesday, 1 April 2026. Therefore, Dasco urged the public not to panic when purchasing fuel. “Just now, the Cabinet Secretary representing the government announced that the government has no plans to adjust the prices of subsidised fuel or non-subsidised fuel,” Dasco stated during a press conference at the DPR RI Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026). “There are rumours circulating among the public about an adjustment on 1 April tomorrow, so we monitored today that there were queues in some areas at petrol stations, thus we urge that with the government’s announcement, there are no plans to adjust the prices of subsidised or non-subsidised fuel, meaning that starting tomorrow the same prices will apply, so the public does not need to panic,” Dasco explained. “The public does not need to queue and even more so to hoard,” he said. “From communication with the government, President Prabowo’s commitment will continue to monitor and maintain the public’s fuel needs, and once again we convey aspirations to the government on this matter,” he added. “Yes, from government coordination, the concern is to continue ensuring that there will be no adjustments to the prices of subsidised and non-subsidised fuel for public needs,” he emphasised. “So if we ask how long, if you ask me I don’t know, the government knows, but certainly the government is focused on maintaining that,” he concluded.
