Dasco Reveals Prabowo's Considerations for Attending DPR Plenary Session Tomorrow
The House of Representatives will hold the 19th plenary meeting of the fifth session of the 2025-2026 legislative year on 20 May, to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto. Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad explained the consideration for President Prabowo Subianto to attend the plenary session in person tomorrow. ‘There are no rules that would prevent a president from attending directly; he can, indeed, attend. This is permissible. This is the prelude to the drafting of the 2026 State Budget (APBN 2026),’ Dasco said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (19/5/2026). Dasco said that Prabowo’s first attendance at a DPR plenary session on Wednesday (20/5) will present the macroeconomic framework (KEM) and the main policies of fiscal policy (PPKF) within the plenary. In general, Prabowo will address macroeconomics and fiscal policy. ‘I’ve just checked, perhaps this is the first time, yes,’ said the acting chairman of the Gerindra Party. It was disclosed that the plan for Prabowo’s attendance at the plenary was conveyed by Deputy Speaker of the DPR Saan Mustopa. ‘Yes, the plan is like that (Prabowo attending the plenary),’ Mustopa said on a previous occasion. The plenary is scheduled for Wednesday (20/5) at 09:00 Western Indonesian Time. The plenary agenda includes the government’s delivery of the macroeconomic framework and the main policies of the 2027 RAPBN. Other plenary agenda items include the Legislative Body’s (Baleg) report on the evaluation of changes to the Prolegnas Priority Legislation for 2026, followed by a decision. The agenda continues with the parliamentary fractions’ opinions on the revision of the Act proposed by Commission III on Amendments to Law No. 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police, followed by a decision to become a DPR-initiated bill.
