Dasco Leads Meeting on Pioneer Ferry Crossing Budget Constraints

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi disclosed the results of a coordination meeting between the government and the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Monday (20/7/2026). The meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

Prasetyo stated that the discussions focused on finding solutions to the operational budget requirements for pioneer ferry crossings at PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) and PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero).

“We attended the invitation from the DPR leadership, and it was fully attended by the leadership of Commission V, the Head of the Commission V Working Committee, and from the government side, myself, the Minister of Transportation, and the Minister of Finance, as well as the COO of Danantara, in order to find a solution to the budget requirement issues for pioneer crossings,” Prasetyo told reporters after the meeting.

One of the decisions made during the meeting was an increase in the budget for the two state-owned shipping companies. “What was conveyed was a requirement of approximately Rp139 billion for ASDP, and around Rp70 billion for Pelni,” Prasetyo said.

The meeting also addressed a request for an Additional Budget (ABT) from the Ministry of Transportation, with a final decision expected to be settled today. “There was also a request for an ABT from the Ministry of Transportation, which we agreed to finalise today between the Minister of Transportation and the Director General of Budget, with their technical teams detailing it. But in principle, what was proposed can be agreed upon,” he stated, noting the additional budget for the ministry amounts to roughly Rp2.3 to 2.4 billion.

Prasetyo added that the meeting did not only discuss budget increases but also administrative mechanisms that have been disrupting pioneer transport. Although he could not yet elaborate on the specific mechanisms, he emphasised the need for proper governance. “So far, through the Ministry of Transportation, everything has been well organised regarding governance, reporting, and audits. If we decide on a change, we must ensure that all administrative procedures and governance are implemented correctly,” he concluded.
