Dasco Leads Level 1 Plenary Meeting on Domestic Workers Protection Bill, Minister of Law and Deputy Minister of Manpower Present
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, led the plenary meeting for the Level 1 discussion of the Bill (RUU) on the Protection of Domestic Workers (PPRT). The results of this Legislative Body (Baleg) plenary meeting will be brought to the DPR RI plenary session tomorrow.
The RUU PPRT plenary meeting took place in the Baleg room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday evening (20/4/2026). Attendees included the Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor, and Deputy Secretary to the State Secretariat Bambang Eko Suhariyanto.
“The Legislative Body meeting today was attended by 24 people, consisting of 8 factions. Thus, quorum has been met,” said Dasco at the start of the DPR meeting.
The RUU PPRT decision-making plenary meeting was open to the public. The Head of the RUU PPRT Working Committee, Bob Hasan, will deliver an introduction regarding the points already finalised in the timus (drafting team) and timsin (synchronisation team).
“Esteemed leaders and members of the Legislative Body and distinguished guests. Tonight’s Legislative Body working meeting schedules the decision-making on the results of the discussion of the Bill on the Protection of Domestic Workers,” said Dasco.
Subsequently, the eight factions in the DPR will provide their views on the RUU PPRT. The DPR and the government will then sign the draft of the RUU before it proceeds to Level 2 in the plenary session.
“The meeting chair’s introduction as currently underway, the Working Committee Head’s report, opinions or views from the factions and the government, decision-making, signing of the RUU draft, and closing,” stated Dasco.
