Dasco Leads House Meeting with Government on Pioneer Ship Budget
The leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR) held a meeting with the government to discuss the budget for pioneer ferry crossings. The meeting was convened to find a solution to the problem of funding needs for pioneer crossing services.
The meeting took place at the DPR building within the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (20/7/2026), chaired by Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Also in attendance were Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa, Cabinet Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, Danantara COO Dony Oskaria, and Chair of DPR Commission V Lasarus.
Prasetyo said the meeting was held to seek a solution to the problem of budget requirements for pioneer crossings. He said the government and the DPR agreed on additional funding for pioneer crossing services for the remainder of the 2026 fiscal year.
“Thankfully, the meeting did not run too long because we were able to reach an agreement, and the figures required by the Finance Minister were met with willingness, because the first issue was not the numbers themselves but rather a matter of priority and primary attention,” Prasetyo said after the meeting.
“So we decided together that this would be fulfilled immediately in order to resolve the budget problems faced by our colleagues at ASDP and at Pelni,” he continued.
Prasetyo revealed that the additional budget requirement for ASDP amounted to around Rp 139 billion, while for Pelni it was approximately Rp 70 billion.
“What was conveyed earlier was a requirement of around Rp 139 billion for ASDP, and roughly Rp 70-odd billion for Pelni,” he said.
In addition, the government agreed in principle to a proposed additional budget under the Ministry of Transport’s supplementary budget (ABT). Prasetyo said the proposed ABT value was around Rp 2.3 trillion to Rp 2.4 trillion.
“Approximately, if I am not mistaken, the ABT discussed was around Rp 2.3 or Rp 2.4 trillion,” he said.
Prasetyo said the meeting also discussed changes to the funding mechanism, so that administrative processes would not hinder services to the public.
“But please be patient, because whatever the mechanism, it must of course fulfil all administrative governance requirements,” he explained.
“So if it has so far been channelled through the Ministry of Transport, the governance, reporting, auditing and so on are all well arranged there. So if we later decide on a change, we must certainly ensure that all the administrative governance is also carried out properly,” he continued.
Prasetyo assured that pioneer crossing services, including in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), have now resumed operations. “Yes, thankfully, they have resumed in NTT,” he said.
