Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad met with the Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, and the newly appointed President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), Jeffrey Hendrik, along with their staff. They coordinated on ways to improve the governance of the bourse.

The meeting was held at Nusantara III, DPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6/2026). Following the meeting, Dasco explained that he had coordinated with the OJK and BEI to reform the exchange’s governance.

“We have just held coordination and then a lengthy discussion on how the new board of directors of the stock exchange can improve the bourse’s governance so that it is better in the future,” Dasco said during a press conference.

He conveyed to the OJK that it should improve its supervision of the exchange’s governance so that it can be even better going forward.

“For that reason, we have just conveyed to the OJK that its supervision can also be better in the future, and we have reached common ground on several agreements, of course, for better governance of the bourse going forward,” Dasco stated.

Meanwhile, Friderica said that her party had selected seven BEI directors. She expressed hope that the chosen board of directors could develop the BEI further.

“We hope for all of this and we also ask them to commit to giving their best for the development of the Stock Exchange going forward, prioritising governance and continuing integrity reforms in the capital market,” she said.

She also urged the new BEI directors to improve the exchange’s governance so that Indonesia’s capital market can boost the national economy.

“We prioritise governance integrity and we will also continue to make improvements so that it becomes an increasingly advanced, increasingly developed capital market that can further support Indonesia’s economic growth,” she stated.

Subsequently, Jeffrey Hendrik confirmed that his team would immediately move to reform the capital market. He will also continue to enhance transparency, integrity, and governance at the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

“So that in the future, the potential for the Indonesia Stock Exchange to become a world-class bourse on par with the major exchanges in the world can be realised together,” Jeffrey said.
