Dasco: House of Representatives to Coordinate with New National Nutrition Agency Leadership
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated that Parliament will soon coordinate with the new leadership of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to discuss future planning.
“I believe Commission IX will immediately initiate coordination to understand the planning of the new BGN leadership, aiming to improve and enhance the governance within the agency,” he said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Dasco expressed appreciation for the government’s decision to replace the Head and Deputy Head of the BGN. According to him, this change is a tangible manifestation of the government listening to public aspirations and input from the House of Representatives.
“The DPR RI certainly expresses its appreciation to the government for listening to the aspirations of the community and beneficiaries, as well as the results of coordination across ministries and input from the DPR,” he said.
He expressed hope that through the government’s evaluation of the BGN leadership, the institution would continue to improve and serve the public more effectively.
“This change will certainly not affect the services currently ongoing; our hope is that the service objectives, especially for the 3T regions (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost), can be realised promptly,” he added.
Furthermore, he assessed the appointment of Nanik S. Deyang as Head of the BGN, replacing Dadan Hindayana, as an appropriate choice. He noted that Nanik had demonstrated strong performance during her previous tenure as Deputy Head of the BGN.
“We have seen that Ms Nanik, despite her relatively recent tenure as Deputy Head, has conducted extensive field work, monitoring, and has successfully closed down kitchens that did not meet the required standards in the field,” said Dasco.
It is reported that President Prabowo Subianto removed Dadan Hindayana as Head of the BGN, effective from 2 June 2026. The removal was announced by the State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, who also serves as the Presidential Spokesperson, during a press conference at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Tuesday night.
Concurrently, the President also appointed Agustina Arumsari as the new Deputy Head of the BGN, replacing Lodewijk Pusung, and Major General Trenggono as Deputy Head, replacing Sony Sonjaya.
