Issues concerning workers’ wages, the outsourcing system, and the government have jointly launched the Task Force for Mitigating Layoffs and Worker Welfare together with labour union colleagues. Regarding wage problems, the outsourcing system, and if there are plans for layoffs and the like, these can be brought to the task force to break the long chain,” said Dasco during an audience with workers at the DPR RI Building in Jakarta on Friday (1/5/2026).

The PHK Task Force will also involve worker representatives to optimise handling of cases in the field. The task force has already received reports of potential layoffs in several companies.

“It was also reported to the government side from the worker colleagues that there are several companies planning layoffs in the next 2 months or 3 months. This has now entered the desk of the Task Force for Mitigating Layoffs and Worker Welfare to be anticipated immediately,” he stated.

Dasco explained that the government will also assist companies that are in difficulty. This is to ensure job certainty for workers.

“The President also conveyed earlier that if companies are indeed in difficulty, they will be helped or even taken over if they are no longer able to, so that workers still have a place to work,” he said.

President Prabowo Subianto previously announced the formation of the Task Force for Mitigating Termination of Employment and Worker Welfare. The formation of this task force is through Presidential Decree Number 10 of 2026.

“I have issued Presidential Decree Number 10 of 2026 on the Formation of the Task Force for Mitigating Termination of Employment and Worker Welfare. I will defend the interests of workers; those threatened by layoffs, we will defend and protect you,” said Prabowo during Labour Day commemorations at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Friday (1/5).
