Jakarta — Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad announced that the Domestic Worker Protection Bill (RUU PPRT) and Copyright Bill will be brought to the plenary session held by the DPR in Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

According to Dasco, both bills will be formally adopted as DPR initiative proposals during the plenary agenda tomorrow.

“We have just concluded a meeting at the Legislative Body, and we will shortly hold a leadership meeting and consultative body meeting. At tomorrow’s plenary session, the DPR will formally adopt the Domestic Worker Protection Bill (PPRT) as a DPR initiative proposal, and it will proceed for discussion to become law,” Dasco said at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Furthermore, Dasco stated that the Legislative Body (Baleg) will begin forming joint teams with worker unions to discuss the Labour Law, in accordance with a Constitutional Court decision.

Dasco indicated that labour-related policy will also become a DPR initiative proposal.

Additionally, he noted that the Legislative Body will conduct public participation sessions to harmonise the Asset Seizure Law and the One Data Law.

Dasco set a target for the PPRT bill to be completed this year.

Of the five bills mentioned, Dasco said the regulation prioritised for completion is the PPRT bill.

He expressed optimism that this legislation can be finalised since the DPR has already begun discussions.

“Yes, the first target is PPRT, then followed by the Work Creation Law,” he said.
